Puppy to Public Access (TM)

PUPPY TO PUBLIC ACCESS (TM)

Puppy to Public Access(TM) is a comprehensive program of training, designed for  implementation from the timethe puppy comes home (sometimes while the pup is still with the breeder).  A puppy is extremely receptiveto positive reinforcement training (shaping)  methods from as young as 4-5 weeks of age.

Throughout the critical socialisation period (3w - 12w) a puppy's brain is able to build neural pathways that become permanent. This is the ideal time to reinforce through rewarding the behaviours you want your adult dog to display.

Natural socialisation to all the environmental stimuli your fully grown dog will need to be calm around also needs to take place within this period. We do this safely using a puppy pram and lots of high value food rewards.

Regardless of whether you would like to train with an assistance dog organisation, or train your dog yourself - we cannot stress enough, how vital these early weeks are.

Built with the canine developmental periods in mind, Puppy to Public Access(TM) consistently produces well balanced, confident, resilient assistance dog and handler teams.
